myirish, 2 months ago | Flag"Grow up and join a conference
".... Why would the Irish ever do that? Our football contract with NBC and other money made on football allows ND to tell every student, not just football players, not just atheletes, but everyone who gets in "we'll find a way to make it work financiall y." It's a top tier eduction and thousands of students benefit from the football revenue every year. Join a conference and that goes away.... ND doesn't join a conference because 1) it does not make financial sense, and 2) we don't have to. PS - Charlie please find another job.
bdomin, 2 months ago | FlagThis is much the same as the incident following the Oregon v Boise State game. The star running back from Oregon was suspended for the remainder of the season. His coach did this in the player's best interest. The coach is helping a young man mature into a responsibl
e adult with integrity. Hopefully, Coach Rodriguez will do the same for Mouton. I'm a football fan of a particular
SEC college that has a student/le ader/athle te (in that order) that displays his Christiani ty as a badge of courage proudly every day. Now that is what we all should aspire to. He is a real man -although I'm old enough to be his grandfathe r. He just happens to be a Heisman Trophy winner too.
teddyg623, 2 months ago | FlagJboyd2028...ur an idiot. the reason your graduation rates are so high is because you don't produce any talent worthy of leaving early. can you name one player who has been drafted from nd in the last decade that has had any impact in the NFL? thats right-one-Justin Tuck. Michigan? ty law, jake long, lamarr woodly, charles woodson, pierre woods, steve breaston, braylon edwards, jay feely, amani toomer...oh yeah and tom brady. it was a scummy play by that nd fatty who tried to get in a dirty shot and he got one back. also, michigan football has a graduation rate of almost 80%. so get your facts straight. so don't complain about someone from WVU and say that he or his players are idiots because he is from the middle of nowhere. thats just ignorant. you got stomped out by richrod in the second year of his program when your "savior" with all those rings is in his his fifth year. you got beat. stop making excuses and get over it.
RE: Its amazing how so many people hate ND. There one of the few teams left that still hold up to academic integrity. I guess people hate them because they require so much more from there playes unlike schools like Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State or a lot of the other conferances. Just do a quick search of graduationsuccess rates at division 1 colleges. You will be blown away at how low they are. ND has one of the highest. Colleges like Ohio State and USC are in the 50 %. Like this video shows, Michigan with there WV coach can recruit guys who probably shouldn't deserve to be in college, but get there because they are a good athlete. I think we will see a lot more stuff like happening with this coach there. So all of you that hate ND, just remember that a team with a 90% graduation rate can compete with teams that can recruit anyone.
Charlie Weis sent in video to the Big 10 office saying his players had been punched during the Michigan game saturday. Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez denies knowledge of the situation.
